Get the most out of Magazine Advertising

Advertising in magazines is a wonderful medium to reach out to a targeted audience in large numbers. It is more cost effective then advertising on televisions, and offers a chance to select the audience depending upon your business type. They also offer the advantage of being in color and of better quality than newspaper advertisements.

There are some things to keep in mind before launching your advertising campaign in the magazines to ensure that you get the best possible results from them. The first thing to remember is that magazines are not daily publications. They either come every week, fortnight, or every month. Your campaign should be designed keeping in mind this fact and the advertisement repeated that many times. Usually an ad which has been run for 3 to 5 times in a magazine is enough, after which it starts to loose its appeal. But if you put in extra effort to create a valuable ad, then you can probably run it for a little longer without it getting repetitive for the viewers.

Also keep in mind that ads in magazines are not instant. The ad would probably be planned for two or three months down the line. So your ad should be designed keeping in mind the market scenario then. Deciding upon a full page ad or a half page ad has more to with your budget than anything else. Because usually, bigger the size, more the exposure, and higher the price.

Many national magazines usually consist of regional sections too where the advertising rates would be comparatively lesser. So if your business is targeted towards a certain area, then it is a good option to look into. Lastly, remember that prices quoted can often be negotiated. You can ask for a bigger size, more insertions, or simply a lower price.

Introduction to Ambient Media

Ambient Media took birth and appeared for the first time in British Media during the year 1999. However, at present it has established itself firmly in the advertising industry. Ambient media is the name given to the new ‘out of home’ products & services. They are often referred to as Alternative or Non-traditional media as well.

Ambient media works well when used in conjunction with the other mainstream advertising media buying or even if used by itself independently. The most important thing to make an ambient media campaign a huge success is the choice of the right and most appropriate media format from the ones that are available, along with an effective message which would influence your target audience.

Some of the most important reasons behind the growth of the ambient media is the regression in the power of the traditional media, as well as the rising demand for point of sale communication. The ambient media is also particularly popular due to the fact that it offers precise targeting of the right audience as well as is highly versatile. The ambient advertising pushes the brand message directly in front of the consumers and also has the ability to maintain the brand awareness that has been created by other media before. It can successfully fabricate mass attention as it allows the product to interact directly with the consumers.

Some of the common ambient media used these days include back of car parking receipts, handles of trolleys in supermarkets, hanging straps in trains and railway carriages and the like. Huge product images on buildings, or slogans on hot air balloons are also examples of ambient media advertising offered by companies like Buy Now Media.
